Title : THE POSITIVE SIDE OF ‘INTERNAL FEAR’
Dear Colleagues,
I would like to share my colleague Mr.Manoj Kumar’s experience in achieving the best results in his professional career - The role of internal fear in job.
Fear (definition) is a state, where security is less.
Mr. Manoj is a bright student and had lot of internal fear. After completing his post graduation, he started attempting the interviews with reputed organizations. He had been clearing the written tests and reaching up to the final interviews. He approached around twenty five companies but could not get through in the final round. In every attempt, his failure followed him like a shadow.
Then, one day he sat alone and started thinking about his past interview results. He realized that something is missing. What is that something? It was lack of internal fear.
‘Internal Fear makes a person more concentrated, committed and dedicated in his endeavors’.
Having realized the cause, he consciously began to work on it. In course of time, he got selected in an MNC. He performed well in the first three years and got awards, good ratings and promotions.
As he gained experience, his interest level in his job started coming down. That resulted in a quetch from his boss for not completing the assigned tasks on-time. This happened quite a few times.
Then one day again, he introspected to find out what went wrong?. He realized that the ‘internal fear’ was missing.
How come the ‘internal fear’ makes so much difference before getting the job and after getting the job? Let us exam in detail…
FEAR before getting Job : Every individual have fear inside before getting the job. The probing factors are
01) Career
02) Recognition
03) Money
04) Society
05) Marriage
06) Family, etc.
FEAR after getting the Job : Normally, the ‘internal fear’ will automatically come down where the factors listed below make an employee to get into a ‘comfort’ zone. The factors are:
01) Gaining the competencies against the job requirement
02) Employment opportunities
03) Confidence
04) Communication skills
05) Presentation skills
06) Right attitude
07) Complacencies (Success rates and Self Satisfaction)
07) Clear cut career graph etc.
However, all the comfort factors stated in “Fear after getting the job” will result to positive outcomes. But, what made him perform low?
The answer is that, he was unable to come out from the ‘comfort’ zone and the enthusiasm borne out of ‘internal fear before getting the job’ was not carried forward which ultimately resulted in less concentration while performing the job.
Every employee has to be conscious of his ‘internal fear’. The form of fear in Job should be,
01) Respect towards Job assignments
02) Respect towards Reporting authority
03) Respect towards Commitment and Dedication
03) Respect towards Your Customers (Subordinates, Peers, Vendors and Clients)
03) Respect towards Organization
04) Respect towards Career and
05) Respect towards GOD
Mr.Manoj realized what he lost and decided not to give-up the positive aspect of ‘internal fear’.
Hence colleagues, have a positive internal fear in you. It will definitely help us in leading professional and better personal life.
